In the early 50s , Primo Zelanti, began selling traditional work clothing agricultural fairs and surrounding markets in Charolles in Southern Burgundy, France. This small business grows rapidly and in 1956 Primo Zelanti creates his own brand Le Laboureur 'The Ploughman'. He uses inspiration from the oldest forms of clothing with local made materials and high quality fabrics. Gradually, the range which was limited to the original clothing for agricultural use only, extends to workwear for building trades, always with a single ethos: making old clothes with traditional methods. Today the company, still a family business, is run by Primo's son, Jean Charles. They continue to produce the original items using traditional methods in Digoin, France.
